Why not join our Band.

Whiston Brass,  like  most  brass bands, can always  accommodate more players. We are a non-competitive teaching band but have a very busy  concert schedule.  At the moment we are looking for  cornet players, but we would  love to see  players from all sections. We  encourage  all  players, both  men  and women,  and  have  a strong  youth  policy. Players of all  ages/abilities are welcome.  If you  or  someone  you   know  can't  play an instrument  but  would  like  to learn, please contact  John   on  01709 375800  -  we  are happy to  teach  complete beginners  of any age.

The Band  has  a  number of  players who,  owing to  work /family commitments, cannot  totally accommodate the  very busy Band schedule but  do  their best to attend concerts and  rehearsals when they can. These include the Brown Family - dad Rob (B Flat Bass) and sons  Nick (Percussion) and  Cameron (Tenor Horn); also Alan Robinson (Bass Trombone),

We practise on Sunday and Wednesday evenings at the Manorial Barn Whiston. The  Junior  Band rehearsal is 7.00 - 7.45pm  and  the  Senior  Band rehearsal is 8.00 - 9.30pm.

The  Junior Band  (or the Barn Brass Ensemble as it should be known) welcomes players of all ages with quite a few of the senior players having started there.

You  don't  have  to  have any knowledge  of  brass or music as we start players from  scratch with  professional  music teachers.  So contact  the Band  and  you could soon be part of Whiston Brass!
