A FIGHT FOR SURVIVAL
Whiston Brass as been given a 500% increase in its weekly charge for using the Manorial Barn,members of the Parish Council are saying the Band is a commercial group and not the community group it has been for almost 150 years.
Whiston Brass is a none competitive teaching Band, it is self funding.The Band play at charity concerts throughout the year earning money for worthy causes.
If an increase is implemented it will mean the end to a large piece of the village history. We are proud of our heritage and will fight to keep our rightful place in the community of Whiston Village.
Whiston Brass members will not be bullied or intimidated.
please sign our petition below and let the people who pay the the rates make such decisions not two or three councilors.We will be taking our fight to the streets of Whiston and to the media We are the only Brass Band of this type in Rotherham and have an Equal Opportunity Policy so we are proud to say we attract members from outside Whiston. This is being held against us by members of Whiston Parish Council.
